Obtaining a kitten from Foss
Mountain Farm
Our
pet-quality kittens are $525 and breeder/show kittens are $1200
and up.
We take a deposit of $100 to hold a kitten.
We require that
buyers of our kittens
sign a contract with us. It protects the
kitten and the buyer. Our contract guarantees that, at the time
of purchase, the kitten is free of the various diseases that
strike kittens and catteries and that it is also free of worms
and fleas. It guarantees the kitten is free of inherited
defects as well, for up to a year.
It also stipulates that the cat will not be declawed. Ragdolls
are easily trained to scratch on appropriate posts and
scratching pads.
There is no need to mutilate their feet
to prevent damage to your furniture.
For
pet-quality kittens, the contract also stipulates that the buyer
agrees to alter or spay the kitten. It is very important that
only serious breeders breed Ragdolls and use the best-marked
and best-built Ragdolls. We certainly don’t want accidental
births to add to the cat population! As soon as the kitten is
spayed/neutered and the buyer sends us proof of that from their
vet, we will send the buyer the kitten’s registration papers for
C.F.F. and T.I.C.A.
Our
kittens are raised here in the house with us and
the other cats
and are given lots of socialization to get them ready for their
new homes. At about six weeks old they can ‘receive visitors’,
so you can come and see the one you want. At around ten to
twelve weeks old, the kittens are mature enough to leave Mama
and go to their new homes. By that time they are
litter-trained, eating dry and canned cat food and have been
introduced to the scratching pads.
Here are
some pictures of some of our kittens in their new homes. As you can
see, they get along with all types of family members.

This is Tybee Sea Parker with his best
golden retriever friend, Navy.

This is Elvis at 7 months old, who lives in luxury in
Atkinson, NH. He is truly ‘The King’!

This is Stitch, who lives in Skowhegan Maine and keeps
one little member of the family company while she sleeps!

This is one of our more
striking kitten faces, belonging to one of Mandy's son's, Mr.
Stitches. He lives with Elvis, in a household that now has two Foss
Mountain Ragdolls!
